What are the distances for each event?

Marathon – 26.2 Miles
Half Marathon & Half Marathon Relay – 13.1 Miles
5k – 3.1 Miles

What are the start times for each event?

Marathon – 7:00 a.m.
Half Marathon & Half Marathon Relay – 8:00 a.m.
5k – 8:10 a.m.

What are the packet pickup dates/locations?

Pre-Race Packet Pickup will take place on Friday, May 4th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on the 3rd floor rooftop terrace of the Zion’s Bank Financial Center located at 180 North University Ave, Provo UT 84601.

You will need to show a valid ID to pick up your packet. Packet Pickup will be done numerically. When you show up, you will look up your number by your last name and then proceed to the corresponding line for your race bib and chip. You will then pick up your race bag and race shirt.

You may also pick up your packets on race morning in front of the Utah County Courthouse building.
Packet pick-up times on race morning are:

  • Marathon – 4:30 am – 5:30 am
  • Half Marathon – 5:00 am – 6:30 am
  • 5k – 7:00 am – 8:00 am

Will Marathon and Half Marathon runners be bussed to the start line?

YES! All marathon and half marathon runners MUST ride the busses to the start line. Busses will be picking up runners from the finish line location on the south side of the Utah County Courthouse building  (100 S. University Ave, Provo UT) from 4:30 – 6:30 am. The last bus for the marathon leaves at 5:30 am, the last bus for the half marathon leaves at 6:30 am.

Will 5k runners also need to ride the bus?

No! The 5k route begins and ends in front of the Utah County Courthouse building on the corner of University Ave & Center Street in Provo. Do not get on the bus if you are running the  5k!

Will there be a clothing bag drop at the Marathon & Half Marathon start line?

Yes, there will be a vehicle at the marathon and half marathon start line to take clothing bags down to the finish line.  Be sure to label your bag clearly with your bib number. Remember that using the bag drop service is at your own risk…Run13 is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

What is the time limit to complete the race?

Police and volunteer support will end at 1:00 p.m.

What time is the awards ceremony?

Approximately 9:30 a.m. for the 5k, 10:30 a.m. for the Half Marathon and Relay, and 11:30 a.m. for the Marathon.

Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age division and all Marathon and Half Marathon finishers will receive custom medals.

What are the Age Divisions for the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k?

How many Aid Stations and what type of fluid replacements are offered?

There will be 12 water/gatorade and aid stations along the Marathon course (at approximately mile 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, 23.5, 24.5). There will also be bananas and energy gels at miles 8, 13, and 19. There will be 6 water/gatorade and aid stations along the Half Marathon course (at approximately mile 2, 4, 6, 9, 10.5, 11.5) and 1 water/gatorade and aid station (at approximately mile 1.5) on the 5k course. We will also have plenty of liquid at the Finish Line Compound.

Where is the Half Marathon Relay Exchange location?

The Half Marathon Relay Exchange Point is at Mt. Timpanogos Park, located one mile up Provo Canyon, HWY 189,  Provo UT.  CLICK HERE to view a map from the race finish line location to the Relay Exchange Point.

Are there any post-race medical attention/massage therapy and locations?

There will be medical support to cover minor medical issues at the Start and Finish Line Compound and at most aid stations along the course. Each aid station will have communication to emergency medical services. We will also have massage therapists at the Finish Line Compound to help relax & loosen up tight muscles.

What kind of food/drinks are at the finish line?

There will be water and sports drinks for all participants. We will also have fruit and a delicious Magleby’s Fresh breakfast ready for you as you cross the finish line!

Will portable bathrooms be on the course?

Yes, at the Start and Finish Line Compound. The marathon and half marathon courses will also have portable bathrooms located approximately every 3 miles along the course.

Can I run the courses without registering?

No. All runners without a Provo City Marathon, Half Marathon or 5k bib will be directed off the course immediately.

Am I allowed to use my Portable Music Device during the race?

Yes – Rule 144.3 states, “The Games Committee for an LDR event may allow the use of portable listening devices not capable of receiving communication: however, those competing in Championships for awards, medals or prize money may not use such devices.”

Are there Timing Chips & Race Numbers?

All official entrants will receive a timing chip along with their race bib number. The timing chip is to be worn on your shoelace. Please use instructions in chip bag for proper use – it is to be worn on your shoe.  Failure to return the timing chip will result in a $50 replacement fee.

If I get injured or for some other reason can’t run after I have registered, can I have my money refunded?

No, however, you can transfer your registration to another runner. To do this, you will have to e-mail your information and the new runner’s information to dennis@run13.com. The new runner will have to send in a signed registration form, which can be downloaded. If you cannot find anyone to take your place, while we will not offer a refund, we will still provide you with your race shirt and race packet.

Will there be pacers on the course?

Yes, Utah Race Pacers will be pacing both the Marathon and Half Marathon courses. We will also be lining up runners according to their pace per mile at the start line – please line up accordingly and allow the faster runners to gather at the front of the pack.

Can I run with a stroller?

Yes. We simply ask those running with strollers to start towards the back of the race pack to avoid other runners tripping over stroller wheels and injuring themselves or your children.

Where are good places for my family to watch the race?

The best place is at the Start and Finish Line Compound. Also, have your family check out the interactive course maps online and they may find a great place to cheer you on.

Where do I get my timing chip?

At pre-race packet pickup or the morning of the race.

Will there be a Finish line party?

Yes, the finish line will be a party. We will have amazing food and entertainment and bounce houses and face painting for kids. Please feel free to bring blankets and chairs to relax on at the finish line while cheering on your fellow runners!
